Business Controller

As a Business Controller, you will be part of that rapidly growing company with numerous projects and opportunities for professional and personal growth. Together with the CFO and FP&A manager, you will support the management in making strategic and financial decisions to ensure Smappee’s financial growth and stability.

Responsibilities

• As a Business Controller, you will set up, improve and report KPIs, dashboards, and other financial information to management and the Board of Directors to enable decision making.
• You further finetune and adjust financial planning, you participate in the budgeting process and perform reforecasts and budget to actuals analyses.
• You prepare and communicate (consolidated) financial management reporting towards internal and external stakeholders.
• You determine the best course of future action, you will assess profitability of products, projects and regions.
• You will support financial closing activities by providing assistance with monthly and quarterly accruals and by performing top level analysis on the finalised figures.
• You collaborate with other departments to improve cross-departmental processes and provide them with accurate and fact based insights.
• You will perform ad hoc projects and activities such as valuation exercises, automation of existing processes, preparation of financial information for the sales department, etc.

• You hold a Master’s degree in a financial or economic field (e.g., business engineering, business economics, business administration).
• You have one to three years of experience in financial consulting, auditing, controlling, or financial analysis.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and have a solid understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles.
• You have experience with PowerBI and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., ODOO).
• You pay attention to detail and think critically.
• You are a team player, take initiative, and have a proactive attitude.
• You are fluent in English.
